Tomorrow is get acquainted day for a new group of kindergartners! Where did the summer go? It seems like just yesterday that it was May and I was frantically trying to get everything done. I have been staying until 8:30 pm every night this week but am happy to say that we are ready!!! I can't wait to meet our new students tomorrow. I just love my job!!!!

This summer I worked on a sketch of my daughter. I still haven't finished it but thought I would let you see it. Okay, so I am no Picasso but I love to draw almost as much as I love teaching kindergarten!

We still have one week left of freedom…then it all ends. I am looking forward to a new class, but at the same time I wonder just where the summer has gone as well.

You are a MUCH better artist than I am.

    Enough said.

Kindergartners don't worry about being Picasso. Neither should adults. It's a beautiful sketch, and your daughter is beautiful too.

I hope the first day back is off to a good start!

Ah, I hate the end of summer! We start on the 30th! I know once I step into the classroom it will be as if I never left.

I love summer too much for it to become a memory!!

Quite the talent you have there!

So good to see you back here! That is an incredibly realistic drawing. You captured your daughter's beautiful face - her smile and her eyes- perfectly.
Best wishes as you start a new school year.

Back to school already???? We are late, but our "summer vacation" starts this coming Friday. I am pretty sure hubby is as eager as I am to get away. Can't wait.

Remember, kindergarden teachers make a HUGE impact on little tykes. You can make it or break it for them in the learning-to-love-school department. I am 60 years old now and I can still remember Miss Parslow, my kindergarden teacher. Bless her heart.

  22. Bluebird49 // August 19, 2010 at 10:50 AM

Great sketch! That used to be a passion of mine--I could really get lost in it

Wonderful to hear of you loving your job--you will leave so much of an impression on these children. As a grandparent, it's good to see such enthusiasm in a teacher.

That is awesome! She is really beautiful!

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, GF??? I thought you fell off the face of the earth! And I was sad. :*(

I'm so glad you were back. I guess you've been really busy with school. I have been REALLY sick and in a lot of pain for the last few weeks, so I haven't been visiting around much. I'm so glad I stopped by today and saw you had at least posted a couple of times a little more recently. I hope you will be back again soon and that school is going well.

Send me an email if you get a chance so we can catch up!

Just wanted to stop by to say hi! All summer, I have been laid up with bunion surgery, so I have not been doing too much blogging. Now I am back for awhile until the next one is done. I hope all is well with you and you will return.
    Your daughter is beautiful.
Hope the school year is going well for you. Subbing has been slow so far, but I get calls here and there, but I do have one for all next week! Yeah!
    Take care.
