I am participating in Jenny Matlock's Alphabet Thursday. This has to be a quickie because I am headed out of town for a wedding for a few days. I was shopping for a last minute wedding gift......reaction: really procrastinating there teach!....when I encountered a woman on her cell phone in Bed Bath and Beyond. She was Really loud and kept going on and on about her boyfriend cheating on her with another woman. I Really tried not to pay attention to her going on and on about this Repugnant behavior of her boyfriend when......another woman walked up and handed her a card. She Read it and threw the card and began following the woman using very Racy and Repugnant words. I couldn't help myself, I had to pick up the card she threw at the woman. I wanted to know what spawned such a Reaction. The card Read :
" Dear Cell Phone user,
We are aware that your ongoing conversation about your husband's vasectomy is very important to you, but we thought you'd like to know that it doesn't interest us in the least. In fact, your babbling disregard for others is more than just a little annoying."
This was actually printed on a card like a business card. The woman wasn't really talking about the above, but the last sentence was totally on target. I wish I had some of those cards.

My reaction: I doubled over in laughter. Have a great week-end. I will be back in a few days.
That is so funny...if only more of us could be honest like that! :-)
Oh my, this was priceless. I don't frequently talk on the cell phone but when I do, I think I probably talk loud because I'm not used to it LOL. I do sometimes hear the strangest conversation from others though.
Hi!
I'm with the woman with the card. I hate it when people carry on a conversation like they are in their own homes. Be considerate, have a little phone etiquette. Have a great day!

Just dropping in to say: HI and hope you are doing well. Sending prayers and cyber hugs,

If I ever have a vasectomy, my wife better never have a cell phone conversation about it in front of others.
That is all.
totally hilarious :D
Oh, that is Really funny! Have a great trip!!
ROFL!!! LOVE it! LOVE it! LOVE it!!!
Have a great weekend!!!
Pam, we could all use one of those cards...honestly it annoys me when people talk loud on their cell phones, I get off mine before entering anywhere....I think it is rude to talk on the phone in public...that;s just me. Enjoy your Charlotte trip.....and don't sweat it on Jack's stuff.....I am working on some things, had my conferences with teacher and reading recovery teacher, and I feel a bit better about things....however Jack will be attending some hard core tutoring this summer.
I need to get some cards made... pronto!
This is funny and I think we all can relate to hearing someone sound off on a cell phone.
Enjoy the wedding......:-) Hugs

I might make some that read "Dear Cell Phone user,
We are aware that your ongoing conversation about your _____________________ is very important to you, but we thought you'd like to know that it doesn't interest us in the least. In fact, your babbling disregard for others is more than just a little annoying."
Thanks for the idea, LOL!
P.S. Have fun at the wedding!
I am actually directing a wedding tomorrow morning for a dear sweet little girlfriend of mine- her mom is one of my bosom friends.
Anyway- dance and eat cake!
I would LOVE to guest post for you. I think you would just have to make me a co-author of your blog. Email me at abeyospeATyahooDOTcom and we can work out the details.
Wow... that is Great! I think some people live for the drama & cell phones give them a bigger audience. Great business card! Too bad she didn't get the mnessage and choice to go off on the messanger. Thanks for sharing a funny story!
Hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding! :-) ~ Coreen

Can't wait to parse your site!
What a hilarious post! This just made me laugh and it does make me tempted to get little cards like this printed...perhaps with five or six choices and then you can just check off the appropriate box for the irritation of the moment!
ha!
Have a wonderful time at the wedding!
And thanks for sharing such a fun (and sadly true) post with us this week on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday's Letter "R"!
A+
Oooh! Vikki had a point! Put me in mind a post about what scifi writer Robert Heinlen would do. If you have a chance, read it through :)

The only thing is Rachel, that the woman on the phone started following her, screaming at her. I would hate that...ack
Lol Sherrie, I really thought you were the woman...until I looked at your picture.
We had a great time Betty. I want some of those cards too! lol
Thanks Shakira! I will have to check it out.
