My college age daughter has accused me of talking like a "Kindergarten Teacher" at home for years. This is a funny little test that you can take if you are a teacher or homeschooling Mom to see if you are truly a teacher at heart. Answer the following questions to see how you rate:
If someone sneezes, do you hand them the tissue box?
Do you ask your guests if they remembered their coats, mittens and scarves as they get ready to leave?
Do you repeat everything at least twice?
On a girl's night out, do you ask your girlfriends if anybody needs to go to the bathroom before a movie or a play?
Do you sing the "Good Morning" song in your head as you drive?
Do you say "I like the way you did that!" to the man who comes to clean your carpets?
When everyone is getting in the car, do you say "Quick like bunnies!"?
When dinner is ready, do you call out "Ready or not, dinner's ready!"?
Do you say "Very good" when answering a friend?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you answer yes to at least three, you are a teacher!
If you answered yes to at least five, give retirement some thought!
If you answered yes to seven or more, you are a teacher at heart whether you retire or not!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How did you do? Can any of you add other questions to the test above?

That is so cute! Having had little kids in my house for the past 11 years, I answered yes to three of the questions :)
Okay teach, you going to tell us which ones?
That was perfect! Guess I'm a teacher after all! :-)
I still tell me kids criss cross apple sauce, and they are way past Kindergarten, and I was never a teacher! Some things just stick, Have a great weekend!~ Debbie
Way to go LouAnne!
Debbie,
Some things do just stick....thanks for sharing. Have a great week-end
I answered yes to three of the questions. Quess that does show that I am a teacher because I do know that it is in my heart.
Awww Choices! From your posts on your blog, it is obvious that you are a teacher at heart!
You compiled a very fun and true list.
I definitely do the first three. For the second one, that's also because my own kids don't listen to me. It's not like I'm doing it without reason!
Oh man, I'm not a teacher, but maybe I should have been! I answered yes to several of these questions.
Not long ago, I was having lunch with a dear friend and she said "I can tell your a mom." and I asked what she meant and she said "You just cleared my plate! The waiter would have done that!"
Thanks Theresa. I am sure you would have several on a writer's test too, you multitalented lady you!
Good for you Anne. You must be a teacher at heart! Too funny about the plate!
If I'm not a teacher at heart, I'm an editor.
a teacher
not
an teacher
in the title.
I just know you would not want it to stay that way.
Yikes, I have to admit, I don't do ANY of those things... I do most of them IN the classroom, but thankfully, when I leave the room, I leave it there. Thankfully - I think they'd revoke my 'man card' if I did any of those things outside the classroom.
That is very funny...what happens if you have dogs and you say the same things? Love your blog! Thanks for stopping by for Friday Follow!
Ackkkkkkkk! Thank you for catching that Gregory!
Lol Halpey1. Good for you for leaving it at the classroom door!
Lookie...then you are a doggie teacher at heart?
Coming from Friday Follow! I'm your newest follower. Please visit me at www.everydayphilanthropistblog.com

Yes, I have referred to the bathroom as the "Potty" around other adults lol
I'm now following your blog =)

Oh Wow Karen,

Woohoo Sitting!
Glad you found out that you have a profession to fall back on...lol.
So True, I am out of that stage but I have done that too, acting like a teacher but not being one :-) Have a great weekend!

You too Ellen! Enjoy the rest of the week-end!
oops.... I stand unmasked... and produly so.
Aha! Another teacher at heart!
As parents we all have a little teacher in us, but it's extraordinary to handle 20 to 30 of someone elses children. Enjoying your site.
One time, when arguing with my husband, I told him that if he had paid attention the first time I spoke, he would have understand my instructions. He immediately turned and said that I didn't need to put my "teacher voice" on when I was talking to him! :)
Loonyhiker,
I have done the same thing to my husband and daughter. They had the same reaction....lol. Another good one for the list.
Nicole,
Thanks so much for becoming a follower of my blog. I did not mean to ignore your comment.
Not a teacher but a daycare mom and I say yes to at least 6 of them. I think taking care of kids no matter what is a teaching experience.
Love your blog. Thanks for sharing.
Take care and God Bless!!
I certainly agree with that statement Julie. Taking care of children is a learning experience for us as well as the children. Thanks for your comment.
