Almost Wordless Wednesday

Each one of my students brought me a flower today to combine into a beautiful bouquet. Aren't they lovely!!!

Remember me blogging about how our caterpillars turned into larvae? Well, they hatched today!

Remember our real larvae? Here is one with a butterfly emerging.....

And here are the butterflies getting ready to fly out and explore the world!

Kindergarten can be such a magical year!

Hey I came to check out the butterflies - I am sooo glad my son is not in your classroom right now - I might have to buy replacment butterflies when he was done --- lol.

Actually I would love for him to have you for a teacher - want to move to OKlahoma?

    Shell,

They DO love butterflies, don't they. My kids had so much fun making their own too. The things that look like sausages (larvae) have their egg carton caterpillar in them. They have big buddies in
4th grade that made the butterflies for them so we opened up the "larvae" so they would "hatch".

Thanks so much Amy ....you are so sweet! I appreciate it.

One more thing. People don't realize how importnant Kg is to a child and how much the teacher impacts a little ones life. I still remember the short haired blonde with red round rimmed glasses who's name was Mrs Slickenmyer. She would call us her Slick Chicks :) When I was in 1st-3rd grade I used to see her in the hall and my eyes would just light up! I would have to get out of line and run to give her a hug! I'm 26 years old now and I'm sure she doesn't even know that I still think of her once in awhile she was a great and memorble teacher as well as my 3rd grade teacher Mrs Hines. Because of those 2 I wanted to become a teacher. THat didn't happen though. It's ok because I'll be homeschooling my little ones soon :)
